I’m originally from Ginnell Terrace Mullingar. I worked in Dublin for a number of years and relocated with my wife and family to Mullingar in 2003. My wife Monica is a very patient woman, and has been encouraging me for a long time to get my poems “out there’. We have 2 adult children, Paul, known as Paulie, a local and very talented musician, particularly guitar; and Kim who is an adult with extra needs, and has an amazingly endearing personality, coupled with powerful confidence and independence.

I have been writing since 5th class in St. Mary’s Primary school around 1970-ish, and I was encouraged by teachers in both Primary and Secondary school. I have kept writing since then and have amassed quite an amount and assortment of notebooks with all sorts of stuff in them, through which I am currently rummaging!
I look forward to being a long time member of Inklings as it progresses creativity with like minded people. I use the pen name Breno in my poems just in case there’s any confusion – Brendan Martin
