We are delighted to announce that the Mullingar Literary Festival returns this summer, taking place from Thursday July 3rd to Saturday July 5th, once again at Caffreys Bar.

Following the success of last year’s festival, 2025 will introduce an exciting new outdoor stage, while retaining the warm, intimate indoor performance space that proved so popular with audiences and writers alike. The combination of fresh open-air energy and the familiar cosy atmosphere promises a richer, more immersive literary experience.

Chairperson Laurence Meehan said:

“Last July’s festival exceeded all our expectations. The atmosphere inside Caffrey’s was something very special — intimate, welcoming, and alive with creativity. This year, we’re building on that success with a new outdoor stage while keeping everything people loved about the indoor experience. Mullingar has a real literary heartbeat, and we’re excited to celebrate it again this summer.”

The Mullingar Literary Festival continues to champion writers, poets, spoken-word performers, and storytellers from across Ireland and beyond, offering a relaxed, inclusive space for literature to be shared and enjoyed.
