Chele Crawley

Chele Crawley, who lives in Mullingar, is an emerging writer of romantic historical fiction and enjoys writing short stories and flash fiction. Chele works as a primary school teacher and particularly enjoys cultivating a love of the literary world in her pupils. With a background in print journalism, Chele has a nose for a story and knows the importance of good storytelling.
Chele is delighted to announce her debut into the literary world with ‘Of Social Standing‘, a gripping and page-turning series set in England during The Great War.
The first installment, Lady Dixon’s Niece, follows Annaliese Schmidt, daughter of a Swiss-born farmer, as she charts her course into high society. However, this ambitious young Devonshire lass will soon learn that social mobility comes at the expense of her moral compass. Masquerading under a cloak of deception, the protagonist carefully must navigate challenging social conventions as well as quell the whims of a cunning blackmailer who threatens to expose her secret.
And if that wasn’t enough drama this literary adventure amongst the landed gentry wouldn’t be complete without a complex love triangle involving two polar-opposite brothers.
Chele describes Lady Dixon’s Niece as a cat and mouse adventure that will keep the reader in suspense from the get-go. “I can’t wait to share Annaliese’s adventure amongst high society with readers. I have an inkling that readers will  quickly hang their cap on a love interest – team Edward or team Emmett but I’ll remain tight-lipped on whether either of these charming characters will hang their cap for poor Annaliese.
