Brian McLoughlin is one of the founding members and frequent facilitator of Inklings Writing Group, a fun group established in September 2016 that has a weekly column in the Westmeath Examiner, Ireland. He has previously facilitated the Emper-Milltown Writing Group and occasionally before that at Scribblers, Mullingar. A member of Poetry in the Park, Athlone, Shannon Storytellers, Athlone, & Mullingar Toastmasters, he writes plays, poetry and more. He has performed stand-up comedy, stand-up poetry, humorous speeches and has won awards in those. He has recently self-published a novel called “When you come to a fork in the road…take it.” The novel relates a story of a fictional drama group transforming a bankrupt country by putting on surreal, comedic and over-the-top productions. His interests include films and sport.
