Easy Living!

by Brendan Martin

1

They call me the Refrigerator;

Shall I eat it now?

Or eat it later?

Save it for another time,

A day or two,

How cool am I?

2

They call me the washing machine;

Shall I make it shrink?

Or make it clean?

Wash the colours, run them through;

Make white clothes red,

And red clothes blue.

3

They call me the dishwasher;

Not like hands,

But somewhat posher;

Pile the dishes in ‘till full;

I clean them all

‘Till the shine is dull.

4

They call me the deep freezer;

Hoard my food

Ebeneezer;

Freeze it solid for months or more;

And watch them take

It out to thaw.

5

They call me the kitchen blender;

Make the hard stuff

Soft and tender;

Grind it down until it breaks;

Bread and fruit,

Nuts and steaks.

6

They call me the vacuum cleaner;

Nothing in the house,

Is any meaner;

They let me run around the place,

I’m always hungry,

I stuff my face.

7

They call me the PC desktop computer;

A time wasting tool,

A master tutor;

A virus gives me awful pain;

I’m in control

Of the user’s brain!

8

They call me the Apple Mac;

I move forwards,

I can’t go back;

They guarantee I’m virus free;

Ain’t that much better

Than an old PC?

9

They call me the remote control;

I own the room,

I own their soul!

They lose their minds when I am gone;

They can’t stand up

To turn the TV on!
