Once Upon A Christmas Wish…

by Brendan Martin

I almost didn’t see you there

in your bright red suit and hat;

the big black belt and golden buckle,

showed where you were at.

And that big white bag, you drag around,

contains a lot, it seems.

Well, lots of people believe in you,

you give them hope and dreams.

But you’re supposed to be here at Christmas,

yet you’re everywhere I go;

sometimes, in different coloured suits,

and all sizes put on show.

As there can be only, one real Santa Claus,

please tell me that it’s you.

Guess I’ll know on Christmas morning,

if my Christmas wish comes true.
