In the dying of the light
Fading away too soon
Our love is lying there bleeding
Like a blood red moon.
Hearts beating as one.
Ebbing to the waters cadence
Our eyes would find our thoughts
Our hands would lock by chance
Eclipsed by the thought of loneliness
Our fortunes came to fore
Turbulent and tumultuous
Like that first dance on the floor.
“Last stop”, the conductor roared
And the passengers that we carried –
gathered a thing or two.
Ready to alight the journey.
That was me and you.
Fairwell and good luck
It’s hard for me to say
The blood red moon is calling you
And here, is where I stay.
